The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Hockey Championship returns to Ottawa, Canada for the first time since 2009. Here at FLO, we are thrilled to electrify premier hockey as the official electric vehicle (EV) charging network for the World Juniors!
A holiday tradition, the tournament takes place December 26th through January 5th, bringing together elite U-20 athletes and coaches from across the globe in a best-on-best tournament hosted at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre and TD Place.
You can find all the World Juniors details here: 2025 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
Following a series of practices and exhibition games in Ottawa and neighbouring communities of Arnprior, Belleville, Brockville, Hawkesbury, Cornwall, Kingston December 19 – 23; the puck officially drops on Boxing Day when ten teams, including Team Canada and Team USA, will start competing for the championship.
Ottawa is known for its hospitality, attractions, dining and four-season entertainment. With close to 300 FLO public charging stations in the city alone, we selected a few of our favourite spots to visit and recharge between games.
Of course, a visit to the Nation’s Capital means that Parliament Hill is on the list – and there are two public charging sites nearby: one at 301 Laurier Avenue and the other at 350 Albert Street. The Centennial Flame burns year-round and is a major feature on the Parliament Hill grounds. You will find it just inside the Queen’s Gate in front of the Peace Tower.
Visit Parliament: The Immersive Experience at 211 Sparks Street for a 45-min timed experience where you will explore the main Parliament Building, also called Centre Block, in this innovative experience that includes an exhibition and a 360° multimedia show.
The Canadian Museum of Nature at 240 McLeod Street is one of Canada’s most vibrant and “naturally fun” institutions. From dinosaurs to climate change, fossils and birds, as well as special exhibits, the museum is housed in a “castle like” building and there is truly something for everyone. You will find FLO EV charging stations located on the property.
Immerse yourself in Canada’s story of science, technology, and innovation at the Canada Science and Technology Museum at 1867 St. Laurent Boulevard. You will find FLO EV charging stations located on the property.
Step into the festive spirit at the ByWard Winter Market! This outdoor winter wonderland is free to attend, and shopping is encouraged! With twinkling lights, holiday décor, and cozy vibes, the ByWard Market is the perfect place to shop, eat, and celebrate. There are FLO EV charging stations nearby at 245 Rideau Street and 122 Daly Avenue.
No trip to Ottawa would be complete without a stop in one of the city’s central neighbourhoods, The Glebe, for shopping at independent shops, visiting art galleries and dining along the way. There are FLO EV charging stations at 170 Second Avenue in the parking garage. The Glebe Mural Walk is a beautiful array of murals painted by talented artists. You can enjoy a 30-minute self-guided mural walk or an extended walk.
Whichever team you are supporting, and wherever you are taking in the World Juniors, you can trust FLO’s mobile app personalized trip planner to get you there. Simply download the app available for both iOS and Android users, tap plan and customize your journey by selecting your vehicle type, number of occupants, climate control and weather conditions.
