Charge and explore the splendor of Niagara Falls

Welcome to Niagara Falls, Canada, a city that really doesn’t need introduction! A globally renowned destination replete with the jaw-dropping natural beauty of the falls, plus fun and adventure for the whole family!

As an EV driver, you can set your car up to recharge for free* at one of the FLO chargers at the Municipal lot at 4899 Kitchener Street, which is within a 10-minute walk to all the heart of Niagara Falls and the entertainment on Clifton Hill! With attractions on every corner, it’s a carnival for the senses!

*At the time of writing, charging is free, but you must pay to park.

Nothing compares to the breathtaking beauty and impact of the iconic Horseshoe Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls.  You must see and hear it for yourself! Niagara Falls has an incredible volume of water flowing over, and it’s loud.  Niagara Parks says, “more than 168,000 cubic metres (6 million cubic feet) of water go over the crestline of the falls every minute during peak daytime tourist hours.” You can find out even more about the geology of the area here.

According to Niagara Falls Tourism research, “the city of Niagara Falls welcomes approximately 12 million visitors yearly”. The popularity of Niagara Falls means crowds, lots of them; especially in the months of July to September, followed by April to June.

Pro-tip: Set your sights on the off season!

If you want an experience that can’t be beat, visit Niagara Falls during the off season when there are fewer people, and there is an equal amount of adventure to be had.

The ever-popular Voyage to the Falls boat tour operated by Niagara City Cruises brings you up close and personal with the falls and is a crowd favourite, but remember, you will likely get a little bit damp! Check the tour schedule online here.

Niagara Fall Martin Briere
Martin Briere, Chief Network and Experience Officer at FLO traveled in his EV from his home in Quebec to Niagara Falls with his family, and they truly enjoyed the Horseshoe Falls!

The Journey Behind the Falls is another way to enjoy the falls, and it is open year-round – giving you an unparalleled vantage point – winter rates are reduced as the Lower Observation Deck is closed due to ice.

If you can stay into the evening, the splendor of the illumination of the three waterfalls – which happens right after the sun sets (as early as 4:30pm in the winter) is something to behold. You can view the illumination schedule here.

Winter Festival of Lights

Starting mid-November through to the new year, the Winter Festival of Lights (WFOL) illuminates the city with over 3 million lights and over 75 displays. From the comfort of an adjacent restaurant or on foot, WFOL is an incredible experience.

Niagara Falls Tourism has created six self-guided itineraries for WFOL, from the Family Fun Route to the Date Night and Nature Lover’s Route to the Indoor Itinerary, you will find an itinerary suited to you.  For over 40 years, the WFOL has been a sight to behold no matter what vantage point.

Bundle up, grab a hot chocolate and walk along the festival route to enjoy the lights and displays – including 3D moose and deer, even the  “Street of Stars”. There is an illuminated photo frame where you can capture the moment!

If dining with a view is more your vibe, then the “Restaurants with a View” guide will certainly be helpful. Feasting your eyes on the breathtaking views while enjoying an exceptional meal will leave lasting memories.

Regardless of how you choose to enjoy all that Niagara Falls has to offer while you charge, remember to look up, way up – the beautifully lit skyline with the Skylon Tower and Casino in the background are quintessentially Niagara Falls.
