Powering Up: FLO Celebrates 15 Years of Charging Innovation 

QUEBEC CITY —  FLO, a leading North American electric vehicle (EV) charging company and a smart charging solutions provider, is marking a significant milestone — 15 years of providing the best charging experience while helping overcome climate change. 

Founded in 2009, FLO leads the industry with an uptime of 98%+ across an extensive network of over 100,000 public, private and commercial charging stations in North America that enable more than 1.5 million charging events each month. 

“Fifteen years ago, the signs were clear. The climate crisis meant we had to transition to EVs, and drivers were going to need a way to charge those EVs. • 2010: Sold first charging station

• 2014: First manufacturing plant in Shawinigan 
• 2015: Installed 1st curbside charger in Montreal 
• 2015: Surpassed 1,000 charging stations across North America 
• 2018: Launched curbside charging project in Los Angeles. 
• 2021: Launched curbside charging project in New York City  
• 2022: Opened a new manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan 
• 2023: Unveiled FLO’s all-new fast charger, the FLO Ultra 
• 2023: Sold its 100,000th charging station 
• 2024: Celebrated 15 years of providing the most reliable charging experience 

Moving into its next 15 years and beyond, FLO is focused on launching new products aimed at making the EV charging experience easier, more convenient and even more reliable for all EV drivers. In the next few weeks, FLO will begin deploying the new FLO Ultra fast charger. The FLO Ultra is equipped with two high-powered charging ports housed within a rugged aluminum enclosure. Its flexible and modular design and extended cable length facilitates charging on one or on both sides, as well as parallel or pull-in parking configurations. The FLO Ultra can charge many EVs to 80% power within 15 minutes.
