The National Grid’s Fleet Advisory Services and Make-Ready Program for fleets in Upstate New York will fund up to 100% of the infrastructure associated with the installation of the EV charging station. For medium- and heavy- duty fleets, the incentive covers up to 90% of utility-side make-ready costs. Light-duty fleets can receive funding under the commercial make-ready program. Available in Northwestern suburbs of New York City, this funding is intended to support make-ready project costs in public and private locations, including municipal paid parking (eligible for 50, 90% or 100% of Make-Ready costs). Applicants who meet certain program conditions can get incentives that cover up to 100% of the energy company and customer costs of installing level 2 or direct current fast-charging stations in designated “Areas of Opportunity” areas in New York. Central Hudson commercial customers may be eligible to receive a one-time incentives up to 90% of the utility-side make-ready infrastructure costs for EV charging infrastructure. Con Edison customers may be eligible for incentives when deploying Level 2 and DC fast chargers for light-duty vehicles. Qualifying businesses, including non-profits and municipalities, may be eligible to a tax credit of up to 30% when purchasing and installing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The 30C tax credit now covers up to $100,000 per charger installed in locations that meet certain geographic requirements. Businesses must claim the credit on their federal tax return. The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program allocates $5 billion in funding to states to deploy EV fast chargers along designated alternative fuel corridors nationwide.
